This notice explains what personal data the Embassy collects when you book a consular appointment, how long it is kept, and your rights over it.
Who is responsible
The Embassy of the Republic of the Sudan in Abuja, Nigeria, is the data controller for the information you provide when booking an appointment.
What we collect
When you book an appointment we collect only the minimum needed to hold your slot and contact you about it:
- Your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number, together with the service and the day you selected.
- A non-identifying appointment reference number generated for your booking.
What we do NOT store
The visa application form is completed and printed in your own browser. The sensitive details on it — including religion, blood group, mother’s name, and full passport number — are never sent to or stored by this website. You carry the printed form to your appointment. Your IP address is used only momentarily to protect the booking form against abuse (rate-limiting and human verification) and is not stored with your booking.
How long we keep it
Your booking record is automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after your appointment date. For technical resilience the database keeps a short recovery window — currently up to 24 hours — after which a deleted record is irrecoverable. Your appointment confirmation email is held by our email provider for up to 30 days.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your booking data, or raise a concern about how it is handled. You can cancel your appointment yourself using the link in your confirmation. For any other request, contact the Embassy:
